Notifications

In-app notifications are how the HelioFleet team reaches you inside the console - service updates, scheduled maintenance, known issues, and anything else worth knowing without leaving the app.

The bell#

Every console screen has a bell icon in the top navigation bar. When there's something unread, a small indicator appears.

Click the bell to open the inbox.

What's in the inbox#

Each row shows:

  • Title and a short body.
  • Time - relative for recent items (just now, 12m ago, 3h ago, 2d ago), absolute date and time for anything older than a week.
  • Tags on the right when applicable:
    • Critical - flagged by HelioFleet as urgent. Stays unread, hard to miss.
    • Admins - visible only to tenant admins (regular tenant users never see these rows).

The header has two filters: All and Critical. The counts beside them are live - when Critical reads 0, you're caught up on anything urgent.

A Refresh button at the bottom re-fetches the list without closing the inbox.

Who sends notifications#

There are two sources today:

  • The HelioFleet team - broadcasts about platform changes, scheduled downtime, feature releases, or anything worth flagging directly inside the console.
  • The system - auto-generated notifications when something happens that admins should act on. For example, when a leased device is pulled for maintenance and released from your fleet, your tenant admins are notified.

Tenant admins can't author their own notifications - for internal team messaging, use your normal channels.

Who sees what#

  • Tenant admins see every notification sent to your tenant, including admins-only items.
  • Tenant users only see notifications addressed to the whole tenant.

Other channels#

The in-app bell is not where every system message lives. Account and billing events (invitation accepted, subscription about to renew, payment failed) go out by email to the relevant address rather than the bell. Check Billing for what to expect from those flows.
